Zawadi – the gift that gives back

Nina Ogot’s ‘Zawadi’ (gift) has been crowned the Winner in the Best African Pop category at the prestigious 2026 InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA).

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the InterContinental Music Awards recognizes exceptional artists from around the world while celebrating music as a universal language that connects cultures. Since its founding in 2011, ICMA has honored artists representing more than 100 countries and has built an international platform dedicated to artistic excellence, cultural diversity, and connection through music.

Winners were selected through an independent professional judging process. The 2026 jury included Grammy winners and voting members, Emmy winners, Billboard-charting artists, internationally acclaimed composers, producers, songwriters, conductors, educators, music executives, and film and television composers from across the music industry.

The 2026 winners were officially announced during the 14th Annual InterContinental Music Awards Online Awards Ceremony on August 23, 2026. The international celebration brought together artists and music professionals from around the world, with attendees representing 122 cities worldwide.
