Wow!!! is the only way I can think to begin talking about the residual effects that a recent wedding had on my creative psyche. This time round, my creative antennae were raised up high, thanks to the newly weds that I had the wonderful opportunity to meet last Saturday at The Legends grounds in Karen.
Martina, a young Swedish lady living and teaching in Kenya was tying the knot with her Kenyan musician gentleman- Fadhilee Itulya. When I arrived at the wedding venue, they were in the heart of the process of taking pictures that they could gape at once the wedding day was over.
What caught my attention? Martina’s lacey, peachy Ivory gown which was simple yet breathtaking. In other words, it was simply breathtaking!!I find that brides like Martina who opt to clad unconventionally on their big day should be written down in Kenyan wedding history books (if those exist) so as to be used as a point of reference for future brides who desire to step out of the usual rosy comfort zones of white bridal gear.
This peachy, ivory, lacey combo is not only elegant but also has a royal twist to it that can make any ‘kawaida’ looking dress instantly transform into glamour. So, Long story short; Kenyan brides can now see that a classic secret to spicing up you wedding gown is going by the old adage-Less is more!
congratulations to you Fadhilee and Martina Itulya.
